We got to work, work, to work this out....

Working out has always been an interesting thing for me...it all started in 11th grade when me and my friends got a passes to Golds Gym and since then I have always found ways to stay in shape. So for about 10 years of my life I have ridden the roller coaster that is working out. It got to the point that I was doing over an hour of hard cardio and losing over 1500 calories a day, or every other day; on top of all of this there was basketball twice a week as well...so I was in shape, but it was scary almost like an eating disorder. Then one day I met Suzi and she snapped me out of this crazy routine and I found myself in better shape because I was much happier with what I was doing, Suzi brought me back from something that was great at the time but was something that could have turned more serious later.
Now I find myself bored with my mundane workouts that have been the same for a year or so now. So naturally I asked the hamster to get back on the wheel and help me come up with a new routine that would challenge, excite, and show me results.
So here it is...

1. Run 2-3 miles four times a week
2. Hit the gym three times a week
ABS, Push-ups, Pull-Ups, and Dips
3. Sports as often as I can
4. Convince myself to stretch so I can stay lose

This is my plan for the next six week, I weigh 197 and I would love to get to 188-189 by the end of the break. Now don't get me wrong I am not fat and out of shape, I just want to slim down and become more tone. Of course, by the end of the break I hope to start P90x and really get down to business. Also, I will post some before and after pictures and hope for the best.

Motorized "stinkin" bikes

BYU-Idaho is an amazing place to attend school; well, if random unpredictable weather doesn't bother you than it is. Anyways I work on BYU-I grounds so I have the chance to see some pretty interesting things while I am out and about on campus...
Something that intrigues me the most is the mode of transportation people use: feet, shoes, unicycle, motorcycle, mo-ped, mountain bike, road bike, skater dude bike, Finding Forester bike, boy riding girl bike, tandem bike, DI bike, probably stolen bike, etc. Yes, I could go on about the different modes for hours, but I would like to focus on the dang motorized bike. Every time I see someone cruising up the street on one of these I want to throw a stick into their spokes, they drive me absolutely crazy. Now I understand these bikes are similar in nature to a Mo-Ped especially one like mine that does not go very fast; however, my Scoot does not have peddles! And its street legal! Oh, its also way more attractive and I can carry a second person! The motorized bikes are just a lame excuse for the average person to be even more lazy...."Gee this hill is pretty steep, let me pull start my 'peddle bike' so I can make it" no wonder America is getting lazier with each passing generation...why in the world would you want to put gas into something that is supposed to help you save money???!! If you look at the picture your legs look like their constantly attacked by exhaust! I MEAN....
You wouldn't ride these bikes because you thought they were beautiful; it looks like some guy bought Marven's old bike from DI, took apart his Dad's lawn mower and used the engine so he could get up hills. The more I think about it the more lame this bike becomes...I have just thought of something that I have seen that furthers my frustration; when I see Mr. Lawn Mower Engine cruising around with his engine "revving" on either level streets, or downward sloping streets, are you feeling the worthlessness of these bikes?
Here is how I see it, you have the "cool" guys who have motorcycles/jet bikes, you have the wannabes (ME) with scooters, and then you have the guys who pretend they own either of these bikes on their motorized bike. Motorized bicycles need to go and they need to go now! Get off your peddle mower and use your feet...you might just see that gut vanish, or maybe invent motorized shoes, well, on second thought DO NOT invent those...yikes.

What this is all about

For awhile now I have been thinking how I could document my crazy, yet awesome life in Rexburg. So the thought came to my mind to start a blog that has nothing to do with the blog my wife and I have....and The Rambling Rexburger was born. This blog will focus on the basics of life, as I live them: movie reviews (old and new) we watch a lot of movies, mostly from the public library and some of them are not as new as others, so I want to let you all know what I think of them; book reviews, when I am not in school I try and catch up on my reading that I have missed out on, so I will let you all know what I am reading and why you should or should not read it; my opinions about things, I have a post coming up that will focus on motorize bikes and why I think they should be banned; workouts, I plan a P90x excursion once I can get a hold of the program, and things that I am doing to keep in shape during my summer break; and of course my ramblings, why it is awesome to be a dad, husband, student, plasma suckee, music etc.
I really would love if this blog could grasp your interests and give you ideas about the simple things in life.
